In short, Scotlands.
Polarised politics, manipulated information and journalists reprinting media briefings from politicians instead of researching and questioning.
This is politics in Scotland just now but we’re not so different than many other countries worldwide.
News media is under huge pressure from falling revenues, the pressure is on to do more with less and some owners have agenda of their own to pursue.
The result is that we get fed the headlines and whatever bits of the detail that help them push their own agenda. People switch off.
Debates need facts. Decisions are made with facts, feelings, beliefs and fears. It seems to me that the main political parties and movements here are pushing beliefs and fears and trying to keep the facts out of sight.
If you look around and think we’re not telling the whole story then get in touch and tell us why. Even better, tell us what you know.
